Which English test is easier, CELPIP or IELTS?

Every English proficiency test is designed to measure the English skills of a person and to ensure that the person can hold the trademark of the English language as its second language. Among all these tests, two of the exams are CELPIP and IELTS. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is a 19-year-old test that is suitable for those individuals who are applying for permanent residentship in Canada as this exam provides them proof of their English language skills, which makes them fit to become a permanent citizen of Canada. Likewise, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is also a 29-year-old exam, that makes a student eligible to study, work and migrate to any English speaking country.

To land on a platform that which one of them is easy is not mild because both of them evaluates the English skills of a person and provides CLB scores to them. However, comparing the differences between both can lead us to a certain point. The main difference between the tests is that CELPIP is a computer-based exam, unlike IELTS, which is a paper-based exam. Some people who lack typing skills may prefer the IELTS exam more convenient unless they have to grab this skill as well to give the CELPIP exam. On the contrary, others who can type well may prefer the CELPIP exam because this test also includes spell check and candidates can even check the word limit side by side. Moreover, if talking about the speaking module, people may find IELTS a more convenient one because conversing with a human is more comfortable than chatting with a computer as humans react to the words we speak, which also assist a candidate to judge whether he or she is right or not.

The listening module also creates a border between both because, in CELPIP, participants have to observe a video along with the audio and the conversation can go for as long as 1 minute before you take a glance at the questions and you have to remember almost everything. For the writing section, an IELTS candidate has to prepare for essay writing which requires a lot more training and writing about the diagram is also a craft. However, the writing module of CELPIP includes e-mail writing, which almost every candidate must have written in their past. Another most crucial distinction between both the tests is timing. As CELPIP is a computer-based exam, all modules have a fixed time, and the applicant has to complete his or her section in that timespan because once the timer of the test turns zero, no one can go back and work on any previous section. In the IELTS exam, a person has all the sections of a module with him or her and can correct any error at any point if needed. Moreover, unlike IELTS, the CELPIP test has more components and sections of a particular module, which can also sometimes confuse a character because of he or she has to perform several tasks of different types.

Scrutinizing all the points, it is a personal choice that which personality likes which test or which is a lot easier because of both have some similarities and differences and their goal is also different. Moreover, if a student works hard, he or she may not find either of them challenging.
